Looking for a starting point on your wedding planning?  Here’s an easy, numbered list, to book your wedding professionals.  This is not the to-do list but rather a in-this-order-ish-list.

The order in which you should book your wedding vendors:

1. Wedding Coordinator/Planner

2. Ceremony venue

3. Reception venue

4. Photographer

5. Videographer

6. Florist

7. DJ/Band

8. Cake + Caterer

9. Hair and Make-up

10. Stationary

Why this order?  The top 5 are not able to duplicate themselves.  Once these vendors are booked, it’s on to the next.  The next 5 may be that same situation but often they offer more than one wedding per day/weekend with numerous employees.  The florist is high on my list because the great ones go fast and your flowers are in almost every portrait, used often with details, filling up your reception room and they’re so darn pretty.

Please note, if you have a favorite company or know a vendor you couldn’t live without, book them!  Rules were meant to be broken.  So, go with your gut and hire professionals you trust so you can enjoy your wedding day to the fullest.  Work around their availability with the rest.
