Update: I have stopped photographing weddings as of December 2021 and became a real estate agent in Kansas and Missouri. If you’re also searching for a new home together, let’s call it serendipity! I can also give you some great recommendations for a wedding photographer. Feel free to schedule a call or reach out at 913-948-3918. Thanks and happy wedding planning!
I almost can’t put into words how much I loved this wedding day. So, here it is in Katie’s own words:
Jordan and I met through mutual friends while in college at Mizzou. After getting to know each other, we dated for a few months, but it eventually fizzled out. Fast forward two years, and I moved to Springfield, Missouri, and Jordan moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. (Yes… thirteen hours away!) Despite the crazy long distance, Jordan and I began talking again and realized how much we really liked each other this second time around. We fell in love over our short weekend visits and long phone conversations. Thankfully, we both ended up only a couple hours away from each other in Missouri for the rest of our dating relationship.
Jordan’s proposal was so sweet and thoughtful. After getting home from a nice date for my birthday, Jordan gave me a handmade scrapbook outlining all of the special moments we had shared throughout our relationship. Each page was titled with the exact date of each memory, along with pictures and his own hilarious commentary. When I finally flipped to the last page, it was titled: “May 26, 2012 – Jordan & Katie Get Engaged!” He got on one knee and popped that question I couldn’t wait to hear. I obviously said yes.
Now fast forward to our wedding day, which was more wonderful than we ever could have imagined. It seriously surpassed all of our expectations… from the fun getting ready and taking pictures with our best friends, to the beautiful ceremony homily and music, to the perfect reception and somewhat sweaty dance party. If we have to pick just one favorite moment from the day, we would have to say that serving communion to our dearest family and friends was the most special. We felt so full of love and thankfulness that we were able to share it with the most important people in our lives. ~ Katie
