I love to hear about how our clients met and came together during the engagement session. Its more often than not a matter of timing but this rings especially true with Alec and Molly at the beginning of their relationship. Molly and Alec met several years ago at Benedictine College through mutual friends. Molly had written an article on Catholicism and Alec used that article to lead his family on a pilgrimage in Rome before they really knew each other.
Flash forward and Alec was running late to the City on the Hill’s annual gala and took the last seat, next to Molly. They were the last ones left talking at the end of the night. I call that perfect timing. Of course, Alec is smart enough to sweep this beautiful girl off her feet!
I love to photograph engagement sessions in Kansas City. The iconic locations usually offer many different scenes within one area. The Nelson Atkins Art Museum is a popular choice and I feel like we get something different every time I’m there. Molly chose the perfect “flowy” skirt.
Alec proposed to Molly one morning, after meeting up for Adoration, while making breakfast at Alec’s home. He read Molly some old journal entries about his future wife and then finished with one to Molly before proposing at the breakfast table. Alec also had two surprise parties planned for the day. They first went to Amigoni Winery in KC. A second surprise party was held later that night at a lakeside restaurant. There’s no better way to show off your new bling!
We went to the Loose Park Rose Garden after the art museum. The sunset light was gorgeous and we lucked out with a mild day. These two were naturals in front of the camera and together. My engagement sessions are very educational. We go through many tips and tricks before your session and I explain more about the posing tips during the session. The goal is to have fun and take gorgeous images. But another goal is to really get to know one another before the wedding day. I loved getting to know Molly and Alec during their session. It’s going to be an amazing wedding day this Fall.
Molly and Alec are planning a Catholic wedding at the Redemptorist church with a reception at the Hilton President this Fall.
