The minute you meet Angie, you have to love her. She’s quite possibly the sweetest gal with the warmest personality I’ve ever met and yet she’s incredibly smart and talented. It’s only natural she’s a nurse as she was born to cheer people up and on. Angie and Sean met in 6th grade, grew up together in Kansas City and both went on to attend KU. They didn’t start dating until college though, when Sean says he finally got the nerve to ask her out in 2008.
Angie and Sean’s wedding day was perfect for them. They said their, “I do’s,” at St. Joseph Catholic Church and ventured nearby to her families property for some amazing wedding party and family fun. I have a sweet spot for tree lined paths and it made for some of my favorite family formals on the wedding day. History being one of my passions, I loved the family history this land gave us and represented on their wedding day and in their images. For example, they have some gorgeous portraits in front of her Grandparents home while Angie was growing up, the tree-lined path leads from that home to her cousins home and the pond sits in front of her parents home, where Angie and the girls got ready that morning. There were also some amazing pastures but the May and June mud kept us in the clearings. I could have staying on site all day long using the landscape and scenery with such a gorgeous bride!
After some mid-day portraits, we all headed to the Ritz Charles Kansas City wedding reception for what turned into a series of epic surprises from Angie to Sean. Starting with the grooms cake and topped off with visit from the Jayhawk mascot, who stayed most of the night. What a thoughtful bride to want to bring such joy to her husband!
During the course of the evening, the dance floor was jam packed and a late night Pizza snack was provided to keep guests going.
The gorgeous pastel wedding bouquets and flowers were provided by Village Gardens.
Angie and Sean, it was truly a JOY to work with you both this past year. I had an incredible time on your wedding day and will remember how welcoming and genuine you, your families and your friends are! I hope our paths cross again in the future.
