Backyard wedding in Kansas City

Update:  I have stopped photographing weddings as of December 2021 and became a real estate agent in Kansas and Missouri.  If you’re also searching for a new home together, let’s call it serendipity!   I can also give you some great recommendations for a wedding photographer.  Feel free to schedule a call or reach out at 913-948-3918.  Thanks and happy wedding planning!

When Rebecca and Craig first started their wedding planning from New York at the Midland Theater in Kansas City, they never dreamed their plans would change, like so many others.  Luckily, they didn’t have to alter their wedding date from June 27th but they did decide to host their wedding reception on the lawn of, John and Susan Crowe, the bride’s Aunt and Uncle, near Loose Park in Kansas City.  If backyard weddings are going to be the future trend (and I’m fully on board with this!), I sincerely hope this one sets the tone.  Craig Sole Designs and Brancato’s worked together with planner, Belle and Bows, to bring this already spectacular back yard wedding into wedding bliss.  It was referred to as plan A plus rather than plan B and I 100% agree!

We started the day at Rebecca’s parents home for getting ready fun with the ladies before arriving at Liberty Memorial for a first look and portraits, overlooking the Kansas City skyline.  A sentimental and beautiful ceremony took place at Visitation Catholic Church before heading to their fun-filled backyard wedding reception.  Some delicious appetizers and cocktails were served during cocktail hour as guests roamed the garden and floral-filled tables.  Rebecca and Craig humored me with a few jumps on the trampoline because only at a backyard wedding do you get the trampoline experience!  Brancato’s served a delicious dinner to fuel guests into some additional mingling and dancing.  As guests headed home, they were gifted champagne gummy bear favors from Sugarfina.

My favorite part of this wedding day was, by far, how relaxed and sweet Rebecca and Craig were with each other and everyone around them.  Obviously this is a stressful and challenging time for wedding planning but they were graceful and lovely all day.  I’m blessed to have such amazing clients!  As it was my first wedding back from the chaotic and surreal Spring we all experienced, I had no idea what to expect.  To my pleasant surprise, life and LOVE goes on.
