The Brass on Baltimore wedding

After Melissa and Luke said, “I do,” at Our Lady of Sorrows, it was a typical Kansas City Fall afternoon…A post game Royals celebration!  This couple took their wedding party to the very place it all started.  Upstairs, Luke met Melissa at Kelly’s in Westport, And their story began.  Luke proposed to Melissa at Kelly’s.  Naturally, they took another moment back to their roots, by visiting this Kansas City treasure to watch the Kansas City Royals win a post game before heading to their Brass on Baltimore wedding reception.

Melissa and Luke planned a gorgeous wedding with a catholic ceremony at Our Lady of Sorrows and Brass on Baltimore wedding reception in downtown Kansas City.   It was a perfect day.  It’s an understatement to say how much I loved being there and photographing this amazing and fun wedding!  The modern and traditional details meshed so well with the assistance of Simple Elegance Wedding Coordinator, Lindsay Howes.

Beginning at the nearby downtown Marriott, Melissa and eight bridesmaids were calm and sweet for a fun morning in preparation.  Sometimes I can walk into a hotel room, with the girls getting ready and know it’s going to be a great day. Melissa’s gown from Bridal Extraordinaire was the perfect backdrop to all the glamorous detail images.  Hair by Bijin Salon and make-up by friend, Elaina Koppa, was finishing up when we arrived.

Our Lady of Sorrows is one of my favorite Catholic churches in Kansas City.  It’s gorgeous inside and out and filled with amazing light.  The front doors are regent and traditional.  The side courtyard is beautiful during golden hour light.

The top floor of the Brass on Baltimore in downtown Kansas City is bright, modern and features a rooftop patio overlooking downtown.  The sunsets are perfect.  Floral design by Ashley, owner at Good Earth Floral Design, are always beautiful with the perfect amount of texture and style.  The reception was such a sight to see with Ashley’s floral, brass details and Kansas City as the backdrop.  The Kansas City Catering staff prepared an elegant dinner.  Entertainment by DJ Fernando‘s (DJ Kate) kept the party going.

Thank you Melissa and Luke for an amazing day.  We felt so welcomed and enjoyed every minute of your amazing day.
