Update: I have stopped photographing weddings as of December 2021 and became a real estate agent in Kansas and Missouri. If you’re also searching for a new home together, let’s call it serendipity! I can also give you some great recommendations for a wedding photographer. Feel free to schedule a call or reach out at 913-948-3918. Thanks and happy wedding planning!
A thousand steps doesn’t seem like much in a day. On a wedding day, we average about 5 miles and Google tells me that’s about 10,000 steps making 1,000 seem minimal. However, if we all walked 1,000 steps together each day, we’d have a unity no one could break. I once heard, if you need to find a common ground with someone, take a walk with them. Or, the old proverb, walk a mile in someone else’s shoes. And I think it’s so charming that Alex and Matt’s proposal happened on Thousand Steps Beach in Laguna Beach, California. What a beautiful way to start your journey together. Such a fine little detail that will play a big role in their lives.
I’d even say they may have had a thousand steps in their wedding planning together. No one could foresee the challenges of planning a wedding in 2020 but the year has definitely prepared us for rolling with the punches when needed. Alex and Matt were originally getting married in May this year. After date and venue changes, it finally came together beautifully in August.
Alex and Matt met at a house party back in the college days. They went to school in California but both are from Kansas City. If we could only see how intertwined we all are! They started chatting and have been together since. And, does anyone else think she looks like Anna Kendrick, but more gorgeous!? C’mon! Celebrity photographer over here!
