Last October, Laura and Andrew came to me with a special request to have a ceremony later that month so Laura’s father could witness their wedding vows. He had terminal cancer and shortly before their planned ceremony, he passed away. Throughout the day, tears, both happy and sad, were shed by all who knew him. I must admit, there were many times I hid mine behind a camera. As much as I wish their earlier ceremony had taken place, I knew he was there in spirit and it was a perfect day.
What a classic beauty Andrew gets to spend his life with. Watching these two adore each other was special, to say the least, on their wedding day. It was obvious they lean on each other, share an undeniable bond and a love, with each other as well as with their family and friends, that is amazing. We went to the Holy Trinity Chapel in Lenexa for their vows. I’ve been to this chapel many times but this was s first for a wedding ceremony. I had never noticed how beautiful the alter is, before. At some point during the ceremony, the rain decided to pour down but it cooled off the hot temperatures and stopped shortly before we finished inside the church. So, we were having a pleasant time outdoors in the chapel courtyard and again out front of Dark Horse Distillery. The lighting was perfect.
While the couple took a nice ride around town between their wedding ceremony and reception, sharing some good times with their friends, Morgan and I went to the Dark Horse Distillery to capture all the wedding reception details. I must say, I love this venue.
Laura and Andrew, I think you’re both amazing people and I love that we live so near to each other. It would make me so happy to run into you, any day. Your wedding day was gorgeous, as were you, Laura! Thank you for allowing me such a special window into your lives on your wedding day.
