Update: I have stopped photographing weddings as of December 2021 and became a real estate agent in Kansas and Missouri. If you’re also searching for a new home together, let’s call it serendipity! I can also give you some great recommendations for a wedding photographer. Feel free to schedule a call or reach out at 913-948-3918. Thanks and happy wedding planning!
The sun was shinging and the city was still gleaming from it’s recent Kansas City Royals World Series win less than a month prior when Hailey and Ryan traveled to Hailey’s hometown to host their downtown Kansas City wedding at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, also known as Redemptorist. The day began at Crowne Plaza Hotel. Hailey and her bridesmaids were calmly getting ready for the fun-filled day in one room and Ryan, with his guys, in another. Hailey’s wedding gown from Clarices Bridal, in St. Louis, was giving me dress envy all day long. The lace and button-down back was perfect on her!
Both CPAs in St. Louis, Hailey and Ryan are classic and lovely in the most perfect way. Hailey, a Royals fan, and Ryan, a Cardinals fan (don’t hold it against him, he’s still a great guy!) found a priest with a sense of humor and united them together in such a unique way during their ceremony. He purchased both a Royals hat and a Cardinals hat, displayed in unity, as a fun surprise.
Their love runs deep and the moments they shared had me in joyful tears a few times throughout their wedding day. My favorite part of the day was, without a doubt, when they recited their own vows, in private, before heading to their reception at downtown Kansas City’s Terrace on Grand. For that moment, no one else existed and they were who they are with each other, beloved.
So, with fair warning, this is a long post and I did narrow it down! Hailey and Ryan’s wedding day was such a gorgeous Fall day. The sun was shining, the yellows on the trees were so bright, they only emphasized how classic and stunning Hailey was in her something blue Kate Spade heels with ivory and green floral design by Dan Needham. And, of course, Ryan and Hailey’s love ran deep.
A little shout out to my favorite Kansas City DJ, Michael Lauren Weddings, for keeping the party going and letting us capture a fun-filled night!
I have to give a shout out to Morgan Miller. She shot with me and nailed it! Thank you girl! And, Hailey and Ryan, you guys have been such a pleasure to get to know this past year. I’m honored you chose me to document your day as it truly was, beautiful. I can’t help but think of a quote, “Love is friendship caught fire,” by Ann Landers when I witness you, as best friends, in love.
Hugs! Heather Brulez, Kansas City wedding photographer
