I’m so thankful Kendra and Zach decided to have their engagement session at the same place as their Ransomed Heart wedding. I was able to map out our portraits on the gorgeous ranch property before the day of during similar light. These two have such a special bond and shared their wedding day with an amazing group of individuals. Anne and I had a blast with this daring wedding party, using hay bales, the tall grass in what seemed like a pond from all the recent rain and we may or may not have accidentally ventured beyond our bounderies but I’ll leave that there! 🙂
Although this planned outdoor wedding ceremony was moved inside due to the marshy ground, it was still decorated beautifully with a yellow and green color scheme and florals from Country View Florist. Most of the decor was put together by Kendra’s Mom, Crystal! She had a vision and, as you’ll see below, it was perfect. She even made the invitations!
Kendra and Zach choose the Ransomed Heart Ranch for their wedding because it was set upon this gorgeous property with a large outdoor ceremony tree. Although the wet ground and heat kept them inside for their ceremony, nothing could stop them from putting some rain boots on and getting out there for pre-ceremony portraits!
Kendra was so eager to climb and explore, even in her wedding gown from David’s Bridal, she hopped upon those hay bales and gave us her biggest smiles! The other girls, although a little hesitant, were dutiful bridesmaids and they all look amazing here. 🙂 We later jumped off with the groomsmen but I’ll be saving that fun for the slideshow soon!
We went inside for their Ransomed Heart wedding ceremony with two old white doors as a backdrop. The moment of Kendra walking down the isle was a great one. Zach tried to hold in his excitement and joy all day but when Kendra came in with her Dad, I’ll just it, he kinda lost it. And, I love that moment! 🙂
Just as we love it, after the ceremony and during that golden hour of light, Kendra and Zach went outside for a little alone time and portraits of just the two of them. Another favorite part of the day for me because this is my favorite light to shoot in. The sun is lower in the sky and it creates rim light behind you, the colors glow. It’s so dreamy! This Ransomed Heart wedding night was perfected with such a sunset. Zach and Kendra were also able to have a few moments to themselves to enjoy their very fresh newlywed status!
And, it was a gorgeous night! The sun was lower, the temperatures were cooler and these two were ready to celebrate.
I think these two are SO cute. A couple budding photographers on the rise!
Kendra and Zach, it was wonderful to work with you both! Hugs, Heather Brulez
