Update: I have stopped photographing weddings as of December 2021 and became a real estate agent in Kansas and Missouri. If you’re also searching for a new home together, let’s call it serendipity! I can also give you some great recommendations for a wedding photographer. Feel free to schedule a call or reach out at 913-948-3918. Thanks and happy wedding planning!
It was an outdoor Indian Hills Country Club wedding ceremony situated to over look the golf course just before sunset. Orchestra music played during the guests being seated and the processional began. Mary waited inside until it was time to begin and Lee waited at the front to see his bride being walked down the isle, lined with white chairs and flowers. Tears welled up into his eyes while Mary and her Father reached the alter area until smiles emerged across both their faces. Guests listened as Mary and Lee exchanged personal, written vows and happy tears were shed. They presented flowers to their Mothers before their first kiss as husband and wife and it was on to the celebration.
The day started overcast but the temperatures for a late Fall wedding day were ideal at Indian Hills Country Club. Morgan and I arrived early to make sure there were plenty of details and candids while Mary was hanging out with her girls and Lee was in the cigar bar with his guys. Flowers were being set up by Jessica with Hitched Weddings + Events with a plum color palette and the hustle of an upcoming wedding day was in the air.
Mary is gorgeous, eloquent and witty and Lee is handsome, charming and a true man’s man. They’re perfect together and together they planned a perfect wedding day. Their Indian Hills Country Club wedding, in Kansas City, was beautiful, fun and easy going all at the same time. But, this is to no surprise as Mary is an amazing corporate event planner by day. She and Lee are rehabbing their new home in Mission Hills by night. To say they’re busy is an understatement but yet these two are a pleasure to know and be around.
The reception opened up to the paved patio with overhead string lights and firepits. The sunset was as gorgeous as the evening itself. Between dancing and mingling, there were wonderful toasts, engaging and fun games and even some late night sparklers. It was such a favorite day, I’ve had the toughest time narrowing down some favorites.
Mary and Lee, it was such a pleasure to photograph your first day as husband and wife. The love you share with each other as well as with your family and friends is so beautiful. Thank you for allowing me the honor to document those moments and that love. I truly hope our paths cross again soon.
