snowy winter wedding in St. Louis

Getting back to St. Louis for Tiffany and Mike’s St. Louis wedding at City Hall and their Windows on Washington wedding reception was such a fresh breath of air.  Cold, blizzard-like air!  I love Winter weddings.  Tiffany was hoping for snow and I believe her wish was granted.  It snowed in St. Louis all day long.  It was gorgeous.  Tiffany was even more gorgeous.

The St. Louis City Hall is so grand for weddings.  Their ceremony took place on the steps at the first level.  The second level offers 360 degrees of overhead balcony shooting.  Getting the perspective of the bride and groom during their wedding reception is so rare, yet so beautiful.  After their ceremony, we ventured outdoors briefly before heading to their Windows on Washington wedding reception.  Winter wedding portraits are some of my favorites when it snows.  Capturing the snow, using off-camera flash, creates an artistic Winter wedding portrait.

I’ve photographed weddings at Windows on Washington for many years.  It’s usually booming, with 8 floors, of wedding receptions.  Tiffany and Mike were graced with the only wedding reception at Windows on Washington that Saturday evening.  On the 8th floor, the view of downtown St. Louis, and the snow, is calming.  The evening was fun; with good food, a great band, and plenty of dancing.  Thieir black, white and gold color scheme fit into the Windows on Washington wedding reception decor naturally.  Tiffany and Mike were also really present in their reception decor.  Both loving travel, wedding guests were asked to sign a globe for their nontraditional guest book.  An antique dress up table was provided for photo booth props with a flair.  Each guest was given a scratch off card as favors.  I was able to witness a win!  It may have been cold outside but it was cozy and warm inside.  I simply love Winter weddings.
