Basic Fung Shui for your living room

Creating a sense of balance and harmony in your living space is essential for creating a peaceful environment. Fung Shui is an ancient Chinese practice that utilizes the arrangement of furniture, color selection, and the placement of objects to create a sense of balance and energy in a room. To Fung Shui your living room (yes, I use it as a verb!) you can employ these simple principles, creating a living room that is both aesthetically pleasing and filled with positive energy.

The key to creating a sense of balance in your living room is to ensure that all of the furniture is properly arranged. The classic Fung Shui configuration is to arrange the furniture in a rectangular shape with the largest piece of furniture, usually the couch, being placed against the longest wall. Another important factor is to place the seating so that it is facing the entrance of the room, allowing the energy to flow easily.

Bonus tip, the best scents for a Fung Shui home is Nirvana.  Shocker.  Or, you could try citrus in a kitchen and office as it gives a level of alertness.  Check out this post all about the best scents for your home.

The addition of color is also essential in creating a sense of balance in the room. Using colors that are calming and soothing such as blues and greens can help create a peaceful atmosphere. Placing objects such as plants and artwork can also help to bring positive energy in the room.  Need some additional staging tips to prepare your home to sell?  Check out this about staging your home to sell.

By following these simple steps, you can easily create a sense of balance and peace in your living room using the basocprinciples of Fung Shui. Not only will your room look inviting, but the positive energy will be sure to make it a pleasant place to relax and unwind.
